Booking & Consults-

• Your tattoo journey begins with an initial consultation. You may contact your artist by email or by submitting the Tattoo Request Form on inspiredinkcoquille.com.
• Once your idea is reviewed, your artist will respond to discuss your request and answer any questions.
• Please allow up to 48 hours for a response, though we always do our best to reply sooner.
• If your artist has availability, they will review studio policies with you, including the NR (non-refundable) deposit, as well as cancellation and rescheduling guidelines.
• Some design concepts may require an in-person consultation, and your tattooer will let you know if that is necessary.
• Each tattoo request is handled individually.

How do I book an appointment?

• Please send your tattoo idea and any reference images to the artist’s email or through the Tattoo Request Form on this website.
• All tattoo requests are reviewed before booking. Each artist manages their own schedule and accepts projects individually.
• If you have specific questions, you are welcome to contact your artist directly or reach out to the shop owner, Lisa Johnson.
• Please include context in your tattoo request. A reference photo alone does not explain the full concept.
• Describe what you like about the image, the idea behind the tattoo, and any important elements or details.
• Providing this information helps your artist better understand your vision and develop the design with you.

How do I prepare for my session?

• Hydration is key. Begin increasing your water intake 3–5 days before your appointment (a full week is even better). Well-hydrated skin helps with both comfort during the session and proper healing afterward.
• Moisturize the area if needed, but use natural or organic products your skin is already familiar with. Avoid trying new products that could cause irritation or breakouts.
• Avoid sun exposure. Protect the area from sunburn, scratches, burns, or other skin irritation before your appointment.
• Rest and eat normally. Get a good night’s sleep, maintain your normal healthy diet, and eat a light meal or breakfast before coming in.
• Wear loose-fitting clothing that allows easy access to the tattoo area. Black or dark clothing is recommended, as ink may occasionally stain fabric.
• Please arrange for children to remain at home during your appointment.

Things to Avoid Before Your Tattoo

• Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before your appointment, as it thins the blood and can increase bleeding during the tattoo.
• Avoid aspirin or other blood-thinning medications before your appointment unless prescribed by your doctor. If you are taking prescription blood thinners or have medical concerns, please consult your doctor before getting tattooed.
• Do not arrive with sunburned, irritated, or damaged skin in the area being tattooed. Healthy skin allows the tattoo to heal properly and produce the best results.
• Open wounds, rashes, or heavy breakouts in the tattoo area may prevent your artist from working on that skin until it has healed.
• If skin irritation or other issues arise, please contact your artist as soon as possible to reschedule. We ask for at least 48 hours notice so scheduling adjustments can be made.

What is the Tattoo Design Process?

• Final designs are typically presented on the day of your appointment. This allows time for in-person adjustments to size, placement, and overall flow on the body.
• Tattoo designs are not created for flat surfaces. The body has tone, muscle, movement, and natural structure, and many designs include elements that need to flow with the body to truly come to life.
• Because of this, the stencil or layout may not appear exactly the same as it would on paper. Designs are adjusted to fit the natural shape of the body.
• Some designs require adjustments to the elements, layout, or composition, and certain pieces may involve freehand drawing so the artwork properly contours to body shape and muscle structure.
• This approach allows the design to move naturally with you, rather than sitting on the skin like a flat image.
• If you prefer to see a fully finalized design ahead of time, or want something replicated exactly, please bring your own black-and-white artwork ready to tattoo.
